Instructors
Quentin Josephy
Quentin Josephy is the founder and director
of Align Studio (formerly Kinetic Fitness Studio). His 23
years of experience teaching places him in the company
of the "early generation" of Master Pilates teachers.
Quentin was one of the first to introduce Pilates
teacher training workshops and seminars to resorts
both in the U.S. and Mexico, a former Modern dancer,
he brings his insightful rehabilitative and corrective
approach to exercise has been invaluable to the
thousands who have trained with him over the years. In
the late 1980‚s he organized and hosted the first
Pilates Teacher Training Programs. He has studied with
such Master instructors as Carola Trier, Kathy Grant,
Fran Lehan, Romana Kryzanowska, Alan Herdman and
others. In 1989 he produced Carola Shares...an early
teacher training documentary available on DVD, of the
teaching methods of Carola Trier, mentor an early
disciple of Joseph Pilates. With former partner
Marie-Jose Lawrence-Blom, he created and marketed the
C-Shaper, available from Balanced Body, and the
Thera-toner, available through Align Studio.
Megwyn White
Megwyn White has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from
NYU with an emphasis on movement and Dance. Megwyn
brings her 5 years as a Yoga Practitioner and 3 years
practice of Pilates. She is certified as a Personal
Fitness Instructor through AFAA, and completed her
apprenticeship with Master Instructor Quentin Josephy
through Align Studio in Pilates. She is also a member
of the Yoga Alliance and a certified Kundalini Yoga
instructor. She is continuing her studies in the
Holistic Arts, and currently pursuing a degree in
Healthology from the American Institute of Holistic
Theology. She is also certified as a Yamuna Body
Rolling Practitioner, and uses her knowledge of Body
Rolling in her one on one sessions and group classes.
She has a gift for intuiting her clients needs and is
very detail oriented when it comes to her training.
Fascinated with the dynamics of the human body, she
continues to advance her studies in Pilates and
movement and relays this knowledge to each of her
clients.
Robin Schoenfeld RN
Robin Schoenfeld RN has been practicing Pilates
herself since 1995, beginning her study with Quentin
Josephy of Align Studios. It was not until she was
rehabilitating from extensive surgery and chemotherapy
that she was able to appreciate the profound
difference Pilates can make in restoring the body
after an injury or illness. She completed a 400+ hour
Pilates certification program in November of 2004
though Absolution in West Hollywood as a foundation
for deepening her understanding of the Pilates method.
Certified as a Personal Trainer through the National
Academy of Sports Medicine, she is also a level one Z
Health instructor. Currently she is enrolled in the
Yamuna Body Rolling instructor program. Robin uses
her medical background and a multidisciplinary
approach to Pilates, working with a client to build a
personal vocabulary of movement skills, and then
assisting them to apply these skills in ever more
complex and challenging ways.
